This creative lifestyle allows me to immerse myself in my surroundings and enjoy every day in a fuller, richer way. My life is focused on the observation and interpretation of my emotional interaction with my surroundings. Because I paint what I know and love, my focus has become the Pacific Northwest, specifically the Columbia Gorge area and my associated rural lifestyle. People who have influenced my course of study in person are Tom Lynch, Kenn Backhaus, Ron Ranson and Arne Westerman. Many more instructors have mentored me through the written word and discovering a book of Richard Schmid's landscapes was a recent epiphany. In addition to Internet sales, I am a partner in an artist owned store in Hood River, Oregon, called 'Made in the Gorge' which fuels the fire of growth.
