Candace Wilson - Premium Artist |
Candace Wilson, although born in Toronto, had a childhood shaped by Canadian wilderness. The large expanses of vastness and nature well suited her free spirit, instilling a love of landscape, wildness, and freedom. The ViewHaving briefly studied art in France at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, she found it far too restrictive spiritually and chose, instead, to remain self- taught. |

This great need and love of space inevitably led to a fascination with the Arctic, the Antarctic and exploration. Her careers as a commercial helicopter pilot, European- trained sommelier, and entrepreneur, have been fueled by this same desire to explore and be free.
Candace's paintings are interactive pieces affecting the body, mind and spirit. In her work she carefully explores the healing qualities and the vibrational impact of colour as well as that of gems and crystals, which have been added to her paint. The healing properties of colour, crystals, and gems have long been documented: they are now being understood thanks to the principles of quantum physics.
Painting both figuratively and abstractly, Candace finds the abstract format more challenging. It requires both artist and viewer to engage deeply on an emotional level- - the artist in order to create, the viewer in order to relate to the creation. This profound connection transcends the mere visual, resulting in an inner journeying for both by which, at times, paths may cross and connect.
