When Doug works en plein air, the sights, the sounds, and the smells, all provide the inspiration and mood for the rendering of a particular painting. Doug draws his inspiration from the Newfoundland landscape such as the rivers, ponds, waterfalls, rolling hills, little fishing communities and the coastline.
Doug has exhibited and sold at the National Art Gallery CNIB Auction in Ottawa. His work was the recipient of a First Place Award at Spruce Meadows Agricultural Fair in Calgary. He has exhibited and sold provincially and nationally. Doug is currently represented in Lacombe, Alberta at The Gallery on Main, www.thegalleryonmain.com and at 'The Frame IT' in Gander, Newfoundland.
