I have pondered why I put myself through this agonizing process of self learning. The process of learning something I love to do through studying countless books, observing all artists from old masters to the unconventional and using my best tool of all, my instincts. Getting lost and letting go in my painting process is both wonderful and painful. Each piece I do is a process I must take by going through much doubt in my ability to do it right. The question itself is, 'Why do I instinctively want to draw and paint?' And the answer is the question its self, 'I draw and paint instinctively, because I want to.'
