Faye Facer Artist Statement:
The outdoor wilderness is my venue. The mountains my forte. Wildlife are natural habitants of these areas and it was only natural that they appear in the paintings.
Though I am self taught per se, I have an enviable library of videos, books, articles, tutorials and a life time of accumulated hand notes.
For years my choice mentors have been David Shepherd and Robert Bateman. Besides the selected field of art, I aso share with them the concern of conservation of our pristine wilderness places and protecting the wildlife that need these areas in order to survive. A more current mentor is Jerry Yarnell who claims to be a semi-realist/impressionist and I try to follow those lines.
I have paintings in private collections of Lodge Guests from five continents who thoroughly enjoyed our North American natural wilderness.
