Holly Friesen is a painter living and working in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, Canada. Her inspiration is the living, breathing landscape which creates a spiritual connection to the ancient Laurentian mountains. It is through these rock beings that colour and shape speak their stories of the earth. |

 Holly Friesen founded and ran Artbeat Studio in Mont-Tremblant for ten years. This was her working studio/gallery where she offered courses and workshops to all ages. Holly also worked in collaboration with Diva Expeditions as a watercolour guide on outdoor excursions. In the winter of 2007 she founded the diverse group of artists that have become known as Les Artistes de Mont-Tremblant. This group of sculptors and painters continues to work and exhibit together in the Tremblant region. Presently they exhibit and work in a large barn beside the Grand Lodge Hotel in summer. Holly divides her time between her Tremblant and Montreal studios in the winter.
For the last several years Holly has returned to oils, acrylics and mixed media as she felt a need to work larger in order to express herself more physically in her work. After many years of close observation of the forests, rocks and rivers the artist now feels an intimacy with the landscape that comes from the inside- out.
