Hope Barton - Premium Artist |
My work has primarily been as a printmaker, showing in such juried sidewalk art festivals as: Winter Park, Gasparilla, Festival of the Masters, Ann Arbor Street Art Festival, Beaux Arts, Mt. Dora. From 1997 through 2001, I owned a gallery in downtown Clermont, FL. During that period of time, I started doing a lot of painting, teaching and demonstrating at Epcot, as well as at many art leagues.

During the past few years, after moving to St. Augustine, I have been featured at Fogle Fine Arts in the 'Riverkeepers Show', several times as featured artist at Mullet Beach Gallery and at Arts on Douglas in New Smyrna Beach, Butterfield Garage Gallery, Acquisitions Gallery and Melrose Bay Gallery. In 2007, a painting was chosen by the 'Arts in the Park' top 100 national art show for a touring show that lasted a year. I am included in the book, Picturing Florida, from the First Coast to the Space Coast.
Currently, my work is exhibited on a regular basis at Mullet Beach Gallery and Arts on Douglas. I continue to split my time between etchings and acrylic paintings. The subject matter is almost always the wonderful waterways of Florida. I especially enjoy the small creeks that come off the larger rivers. I enjoy the abstractions of nature reflecting in the water and the lingering light patterns over the trees. My goal is to give peace to the viewer and long-term enjoyment.
I send out a biweekly newsletter posting artwork and information about techniques. One can subscribe from my website.
