I was born and raised in south Louisiana, in the heart of Cajun country and have continued to call this beautiful place home. I was first introduced to painting in high school. Shortly after graduation I married my sweetheart, and within six years were blessed with our two daughters. I have always been actively involved in their lives, then, when they were teens, I then finally found the time to paint, picked up my brush again, and have not put it down. I enjoy painting what inspires me. I have studied the old masters technique and with my natural reaction to painting I tend to add a touch of contemporary flair to my subjects. I like to achieve the middle ground between abstraction and realism and at times go directly abstraction. My deep roots in my Cajun culture is reflected in my use of antiquated finds that I often use as my canvas. I have used acrylic and oils through the years, though acrylics are my favorite medium since it flows better with my pace. |

Artist Statement
My work is a reflection of who I am and how I feel. I enjoy the use of color and texture to create a bit of ease and whimsy, within my paintings. I find fulfillment in achieving work that people enjoy and smile when they view.
From an early age of watching my father use his skillful talents to draw an object, then build and create that object, anything, from a piece of furniture to a life size play house, which I played in throughout my youth. I realize creativity is so fortunately innate in me. Art has always been a huge part of who I am.
