Keith Wilkie - Premium Artist |
Keith Wilkie's journey as an artist began with oils while growing up Marin County California and the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington. A sailor, beach lover and traveler from an early age, his work has always revolved around the water: coastal scenes, boats and the beach - whether its the Carolinas, the Caribbean or distant topical locales. With significant travel worldwide for his day job, periodic series also capture rural landscapes, gardens and cafes. But scenes of the water always lure him back. While not a full-time artist, his passion for painting draws him to the easel more and more often as time goes on. |

Keith's paintings capture images that remind admirers of special moments in life – whether a it's a warm salty afternoon at the beach, calming waves in the evening, exploring a coastline, the coziness of an inviting cafe, sunlight sparkling through a glass of Champagne, or that day on a boat. They often invoke reactions of 'I’ve been there!' or 'that reminds me of that little restaurant where we...' Of course, that’s why he paints them, as he has similar memories and emotions that urge him to capture a moment in time, a calming scene. His work resides in countless private collections and most recently exhibitions on both coasts including the Coos Art Museum at Coos Bay, Oregon, the Walter Greer Gallery on Hilton Head Island, the Biggs Museum in Dover, Delaware and the Washington County Museum of Fine Art in Maryland.
Keith now paints with acrylics on canvas or linen in sizes ranging from 5 x 7 to over 30 x 50 inches.
