Mary Lapos grew up drawing but she credits her mentors, Mark Mahosky and Charles Hall for their enormous contributions to her creative development. Through their workshops and guidance she was able to grow and mature as an artist and painter. |

In her current series of male portraits, she is exploring the dynamic that exists between the artist and the sitter and how that 'energy' informs the painting.
In addition to oils, Mary also works in pastels, watercolors, charcoal, ink and pencils.
