For me painting is like playing music--I enjoy the subtleties of dynamic compositions, synchronizing color tones, textures, dancing and twisting bold brush strokes. Simple expressions turn complex when I project inner soul of the sitter with the variety of elements. For instance, choice of complex pallet, capturing emotions, varied moods, sufferings, confusions, hopes and dreams in an ambiguous time and space.
Painting in oil allows me a lot of freedom to manoeuvre compositions, playing with colors, spontaneity and texture of the surface. I combine realism and expressionism, carrying the enigma of existence, both on the real and the ideal levels, that's why I call my paintings 'realistic expressions'.
