From bass player to trombonist, trumpeter to pianist, drummer to saxophonist, Peter portrays the exquisite performances of modern day jazz greats and the exuberance of musicians in smaller bands on jazz circuits in the UK and New Orleans. Peter began painting under the watchful eye of his grand old octogenarian mentor, Frederick C. Dickinson RA, who urged him always to stick to his own style and vivid use of colours. To be taught by a Royal Academician was indeed a privilege. Especially by one who, as a young artist, was assigned to cover Queen Victoria's public appearances and court functions in the twilight years of her reign. Peter presents his combination of paintings and poems as fine art Giclee prints. He produces each print himself meticulously using digital and high-resolution techniques that he has perfected to optimize his art form. A Certificate of Authenticity, which includes a resume about the musician, the painting and the inspiration for the poem, accompanies each print. Be sure to visit his website Peter Butler Website.
