My goal as a painter is to express myself as freely and creatively as I can. I paint for myself and I enjoy sharing my work with others.
Canadian painter Lawren Harris said, 'Paintings come out of themselves.' I truly believe this and that is how I approach my work. Many times my work includes human forms, faces ,or landscapes, but I do not limit myself to these subjects. I allow each painting to lead me in determining it's theme .I paint whatever I feel like painting. I am interested in the human condition and our collective consciousness, and much of my work is based on my life's experiences.
I enjoy using bright, vibrant color most of the time. Color theory is an interest of mine, and I incorporate it into my work. Transparency, layering, and masking out areas are techniques that I commonly use. I enjoy experimenting with different techniques and tools when I work.
Elements of surrealism, abstraction, and expressionism can be found in my work.
