Rose-Marie Goodwin - Premium Artist |
Rose-Marie Goodwin (née Svenhard Johnsen) is creative and artistic to her core, creating art all of her life. From Sweden as a child, she arrived on the West Coast of Canada, soon sketching family members at the kitchen table. She has been inspired by Caravaggio, Degas and O'Keeffe. |

In the 1980's, Rose-Marie expressed her creativity in water colours, pastels, casting metal, lost wax casting of jewellery and sculpting wood. She developed her own style at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design (ECI); Capilano University; the Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende (Mexico); and in courses and workshops alongside strong accomplished artists who have fine professional reputations—while Rose-Marie concentrated on family and as a professional philanthropic advisor to non-profits.
Designated an Active Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA), Rose-Marie is an accomplished colourist now dedicated to painting. She has always been attracted to the “corners of our world”, vignettes of everyday life with dramatic light, colour and shadow. In her studio Rose-Marie enjoys focusing her interpretative painting style on acrylic images of the West Coast, the Rockies, San Miguel de Allende (Mexico) and beyond.
Juries have selected her art for the Sidney Fine Arts Show, a one person show at the Silk Purse Gallery and Special Jury Selection Group Show at the Ferry Building Art Gallery.
