I like to explore the moments of imminent balance between ordered forms and the spaces around them, enjoying how the emotional temperatures of colors complicate those distinctions. The balance that pleases me is not the balance of symmetrical volumes and equal forces, but the equipoise that a skinny kid and his larger friend attain on a seesaw... especially the moments just before it's attained, and after.
