The Print Renaissance in America – A Revolution defines the recent resurgence and rebirth of the medium of printmaking and its significance within art history. This resurgence began in 1944 with a blockbuster exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art. Stanley William Hayter and a handful of his disciples from his famous New York workshop, Atelier 17,were the organizers of this exhibition, and since that time the medium of printmaking has continued to grow in importance. The Ronald L. Ruble collection gives reference to many of these artists who were involved in this change in art history with more than 176 major works and biographies of the artists. This virtual exhibit is free and accessible at www.printrevolutioninamerica.com Art is for everyone, enjoy.
