I am inspired by the language, theory, history and psychology of colour and the interaction of colour , line and form to create individual colour stories within contemporary landscapes. I term these stories “Colour Hieroglyphics.”
Robin Timms was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan but has made the west coast of British Columbia her home for the past twenty years.
In the fall of 2012, she left behind her career to pursue studies in painting and all things art at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. She obtained an advanced painting certificate in 2015.
Robin has been painting full-time since 2012 and has participated in numerous gallery exhibitions, competitions and shows, where she has received recognition for her paintings which explore the interaction of colour, shape and form in contemporary landscapes.
In 2018 she took up an artist residency in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. In 2019 she moved to Pender Island, located in the southern Gulf Islands of British Columbia where she opened “ robin’s nest” studio and gallery to show her work to the public.
In 2021, Robin was awarded Signature status with the Federation of Canadian Artists . Her work is often exhibited at the Federation Gallery on Granville Island in Vancouver. For more information or to contact Robin directly, go to her contact page on her website.
